Dra. Mónica Acuña

I am a physician, specializing in internal medicine, a graduate of Javeriana University in Bogotá, where I had the opportunity to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses for several years. I completed a specialization with the University of Buenos Aires in metabolic syndrome and vascular risk. Therefore, I practice my profession with a special emphasis on diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemias (cholesterol-triglycerides), and, of course, overweight and obesity, which have become significant health concerns today. The great strength we internists possess is that we always provide a comprehensive approach to adult diseases, viewing patients as a whole rather than just a specific illness.
