Dr. José Francisco Porras Cotes

I was born in Santa Marta and completed my medical studies at the Nueva Granada Military University and the Central Military Hospital in Bogotá, also earning the rank of Reserve Lieutenant in the Army.

I specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the Dr. Juan A. Fernández General Hospital of Acute Care, III Chair of Orthopedics, under the direction of Emeritus Professor Dr. Salomón Schächter, where I also served as a teaching collaborator for the University. I further subspecialized in Pediatric Orthopedics at the same university, at the S.A.M.I.C. “Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan” Pediatric Hospital. I hold a Diploma in Health Management from the University of La Sabana. Additionally, I completed special training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery as a Fellow at the Santa Fé de Bogotá Foundation.
