Dra. Veronica Maria Barquero Figueroa

I am a General Dentist from the Latin University of Costa Rica (2001) and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from the Pontifical Javeriana University (2010). I have worked in a hospital setting for over 10 years. During this time, I have managed the outpatient clinic of the Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service at Subred Sur, focusing on: facial and dentoalveolar trauma, management of orofacial infections, oral surgery, wisdom teeth, oral pathology, temporomandibular joint disorders, and dentofacial anomalies.

Since 2010, I have been a lecturer for postgraduate Oral Surgery residents at Javeriana University, within the Meissen Hospital program. This involves the theoretical and practical management of systemic patients: diabetic, hypertensive, with coronary artery disease, anticoagulated or antiplatelet patients, pregnant women, patients with a history of radiotherapy, endocrine disorders, and other associated systemic conditions.

I dedicate myself to my private practice at Edificio Centro de Profesionales de la 80, performing procedures such as: dental implants, wisdom teeth surgery, maxillary sinus lift, guided bone regeneration, oral pathology, and oral surgery for cysts, impacted and ectopic teeth, and biopsies. I also treat cases requiring orthognathic surgery and orthodontics in an interdisciplinary setting. Other maxillofacial surgery procedures I perform include: bichectomy, submandibular lipectomy, sliding genioplasty, platelet-rich plasma application, Botox, and dermal fillers focused on aesthetic dentistry and the lower facial third.
