I offer additional in-person and online appointments for private patients on weekends, holidays, or during vacation periods.

I offer expert consultations with a human-centered approach and a deep medical vocation. I am dedicated to serving and addressing the endocrine pathologies related to growth, development, and hormonal impact in children and adolescents. My approach is individualized, prioritizing their health and life rights based on the PROINFANS RULE jurisprudential criteria. I am particularly interested in vulnerable populations and special regimes who deserve specialized consultations focused on prevention and effective etiological diagnosis, understanding the adverse effects of neglecting due diligence. I provide these services in my private practice.

I also belong to the board for Gender Dysphoria/Incongruence/Nonconformity, Disorders of Sexual Differentiation, and Disorders of Sex Development. Here, cases are discussed with experts regarding the transition of children and adolescents to adulthood, working alongside a multidisciplinary group (endocrinology, plastic surgery, urology, gynecology, mental health) to provide the necessary hormonal, surgical, and psychiatric treatment for gender affirmation.

I am an Honorary Member of the Colombian Association of Pediatric Endocrinology (ACCEP) since February 8, 2020. I am the author and co-author of the "ROUTE for Accurate Sex Assignment in Newborns with Different Genitalia" and "REGOCI" (Civil Gonadal Recognition, Chahín 2017) and its Algorithm (Chahín, S., Mejía, F. 2019). REGOCI is a non-invasive method developed to evaluate the configuration of external genitalia in newborns through inspection and palpation, aiming to assign an accurate sex before civil registration. This helps prevent imposed gender incongruence or dysphoria resulting from inadequate sex assignment in newborns with atypical genitalia, which can lead to misassignment and late diagnosis in life.

I have been a co-investigator in several national and international clinical studies, including those on Colombian reference growth curves for height, weight, body mass index, and head circumference, and protocols for establishing normative growth standards for healthy Colombian children.

I have served as an assistant professor for undergraduate and postgraduate university programs. I have authored book chapters, review articles, original articles, and abstracts for national and international conferences. I am frequently invited as a speaker at national congresses, symposiums, and scientific events.

I belong to the Colombian Association of Pediatric Endocrinology (ACCEP), where I am a founding and full member, and an Honorary Member since February 8, 2020, having previously served as President. I am also a full member of the Colombian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (ACE) and the Latin American Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (SLEP). Since October 2016, I have served as Principal Investigator for International Clinical Studies at "UNIENDO Research Center," which operates under global and local regulations (Ministry of Health Resolution 8430 of 1993 and Resolution 2378 of 2008 – Invima).
