Dra. Sandra Maria Benavides Valenzuela

I am a Psychologist, a graduate of Universidad del Valle, specializing in Clinical Psychology with a Psychoanalytic orientation from Universidad de San Buenaventura, and a specialist in grief and death process support from the Spanish School of Transpersonal Development (EDTe). I have gained most of my professional experience in the healthcare sector, where I have worked for approximately 12 years. I started in the public sector as a psychologist at a Level 1 Hospital within Cali's public health network, gaining experience in emergency and hospitalization care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient support. In 2016, I began working in the private sector at a Dialysis Center. For 6 years, I have supported chronic patients and their families, offering cognitive and psycho-affective tools to foster acceptance of their health condition and adaptation to treatment, helping them improve their quality of life. Additionally, in my private practice, I have guided patients through the re-signification of losses, grief processes, mixed anxiety and depressive disorders, stress management, and self-exploration techniques that have positively impacted their interpersonal and individual relationships. I am a professional with extensive experience and clinical expertise, committed to promoting mental health as a fundamental part of human existence. I have a strong sense of commitment, ethics, and responsibility towards each of my patients.
