I am a distinguished specialist in Gastroenterology with over 40 years of experience. I graduated as a Medical Surgeon from Javeriana University and specialized in General Surgery at the same university. I also specialized as a Gastroenterologist-Endoscopist at the Catholic University of Leuven in Brussels, Belgium.

My professional career has been complemented by continuous training and updates in various fields of my specialty, conducted in Japan, the United States, Europe, and Latin America. I have participated in national and international specialty congresses such as: the VIII International Course on Gastrointestinal Motility, the XXI Course on Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Excellence Exchange Training Programme, among others.

I am an expert in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of: Small Intestine Pathologies, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Therapeutic Enteroscopy, Crohn's Disease, Celiac Disease, Colitis, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Capsule, and Video Capsule Endoscopy, to name a few. Additionally, I belong to distinguished institutions including: the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Colombian Association of Gastroenterology, the Colombian Association of Digestive Endoscopy, the Colombian Association of Hepatology, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), and I am a founding member of the Pan American Crohn's and Colitis Organization (PANCCO).

Thanks to this, I am recognized as a leading specialist in Gastroenterology in Bogotá, Colombia, and was honored as one of the top 50 doctors in Colombia at the Top Doctors Awards 2018.
