Dra. Cristina Higuera

I am a physician and surgeon from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. From the beginning of my medical school rotations, I was captivated by a woman's ability to give life. Supporting the process of gestation and childbirth felt like an incredible experience, witnessing a profound event. I've always believed that women seeking advice on their sexual and reproductive health need someone who makes them feel comfortable, understood, and supported, which is why I chose to specialize in gynecology and obstetrics. During my residency at Fundación Universitaria Sanitas, I had the opportunity to learn how to perform every procedure effectively, based on scientific evidence, and by viewing my patients as whole individuals, paying special attention to women's unique needs. Regarding childbirth care, I am deeply committed to reducing C-section rates and promoting natural birth by applying humanized birth principles, while ensuring safety through specialized knowledge and experience.
