Dr. Rafael García Amaris

I am a Surgeon, specializing in Ophthalmology at CES University in Medellín; trained in vitreoretinal surgery and pathology, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and associated vitreous pathology.

I have extensive experience in Cataract surgery, Refractive Phacoemulsification, Presbyopia correction, Vitrectomies for the management of macular pathologies, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, anti-angiogenic therapies, and laser procedures.

I have a broad career and experience in the planning and implementation of specialized health services. I have developed seven projects for the provision of ophthalmology services in the Coffee Axis region in Armenia, Cartago, and Pereira, and in other parts of the country in Montería, Cúcuta, Bucaramanga, and Pasto; all of which are currently operational.

My main clinic is located in Pereira; it features an excellent group of specialists and a significant investment in state-of-the-art technology for the diagnostic and therapeutic support of ophthalmic pathologies, ensuring timely, safe, relevant, efficient, and comprehensive care throughout the treatment process.

My primary goal is to consolidate my clinics in the Coffee Axis as a benchmark in the southwest of the country and to become a center for research, education, and training, thereby creating a positive impact on my patients, their families, and the community.
