Dr. Rafael Eduardo Perez Nuñez

I have practiced this specialty for over 25 years, striving for excellence in medical care through personal and institutional commitment, with a sincere dedication to my patients. I trained as a Surgeon and Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Javeriana University. I completed a sub-specialty in Arthroscopic Knee Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York, affiliated with New York University. I also completed a sub-specialty in Hip and Knee Joint Replacement surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, affiliated with Cornell University. I led the Hip and Knee Surgery services at San Ignacio University Hospital, Javeriana University, from 1996 to 2017. During the same period, I was a Professor in the Orthopedics Department at Javeriana University, actively participating in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have extensive experience in Hip and Knee Joint Replacement, with a focus on complex cases and revisions. I also have significant experience in arthroscopic surgery for sports injuries and degenerative knee conditions. I am a thought leader in Hip and Knee Surgery, with numerous presentations at national and international specialty conferences. I am an active member of the Colombian Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SCCOT), a founding member of the Colombian Hip and Knee Society (SOCCAR), an international member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and a member of the Alumni Association of Hospital for Special Surgery.
