Dr. Jorge Edwin Garcia Ciro

I am a distinguished specialist in Pediatric Pulmonology, with over 10 years of experience, and I have been part of prestigious hospital institutions in the country. Currently, I conduct my hospital practice at Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe, where I coordinate the Cystic Fibrosis Group, and my private practice is located at Edificio Salud y Servicios, Office 1817 in Medellín.

I graduated as a physician from the University of Antioquia (UdeA) and completed my pediatric residency at the Pontifical Bolivarian University (UPB) in Medellín. Subsequently, I pursued a subspecialty in Pediatric Pulmonology at El Bosque University in Bogotá. During my training, I recognized the need to delve deeper into the management of severe illnesses, which led me to complete a subspecialty in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Intensive Care at the same university. This has provided me with a comprehensive perspective, from simple to complex cases. Later, I was a fellow at the University of Alcalá (Spain), where I trained in Cystic Fibrosis and Pediatric Lung Transplantation. I am a professor at the Pontifical Bolivarian University, CES University, Remington University, and an affiliated lecturer at the University of Antioquia. I am a member of the Colombian Association of Pediatric Pulmonology, the European Respiratory Society (ERS), and the American Thoracic Society (ATS).

I specialize in treating children with recurrent respiratory problems, respiratory allergies, low pulmonary defenses, frequent colds, asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis, cough, and Cystic Fibrosis, among others.

My practice focuses on the comprehensive care of respiratory conditions in children up to 18 years of age. I feel and practice my profession as a vocation to serve, support, and guide children and their families. My academic excellence is one of my great strengths, allowing me to provide high-quality care to children, offering information and recommendations at the forefront of today's scientific and medical advancements.
