My training in the medical specialties of Internal Medicine and Nephrology allows me to approach adult patients with kidney diseases comprehensively. I emphasize the prevention of End-Stage Renal Disease and provide qualified care for various aspects of the health-illness process, considering the individual and their family's social context. Thanks to my specialty, I have the necessary tools to manage patients with diverse characteristics, such as those at risk of developing kidney failure, critically ill patients in intensive care units, and patients with primary kidney diseases (Glomerulopathies, Tubulopathies) and systemic conditions with renal involvement (Diabetes, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Vasculitis, infections, Oncohematological conditions, among others). Regarding renal replacement therapies, I am trained in various modalities of Hemodialysis (Intermittent Hemodialysis, Extended Hemodialysis, Hemodiafiltration), Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD, APD), and Kidney Transplantation. I also include training in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Arterial Hypertension, as well as Diabetes Mellitus and its complications, and urine examination with optical microscopy.
