I am an Ophthalmologist specializing in Glaucoma, with training from Harvard University in Boston, USA. In 1996, I first described a glaucoma surgical technique called ab-externo trabeculectomy. This method is known for its minimally invasive nature and high success rate, applicable to all types of glaucoma, from simple to complex cases.
I am the author of 220 scientific papers and have served as President of the Colombian Society of Ophthalmology twice. Currently, I am affiliated with Universidad del Bosque and Universidad Nacional, leading various research projects that aim to improve vision outcomes for affected individuals.
