Dr. Andres Alberto Alvarez Tamayo

My family and profession are everything to me. I find immense purpose in my role as a head and neck surgeon, where I am entrusted with the lives and well-being of my patients. This responsibility is a profound privilege.

I am the Head and Neck Surgery Coordinator at Hospital Universitario Mayor Mederí, a pre and postgraduate professor at Universidad del Rosario, and the Head and Neck Coordinator at Clínica Los Nogales in Bogotá.

I graduated as a general practitioner from Juan N. Corpas School of Medicine in Bogotá. Subsequently, I specialized in General Surgery at Centro Médico La Raza of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (U.N.A.M.).

Following that, I completed a Subspecialty in Head and Neck Surgery at Centro Médico La Raza. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.) and a member of the American Head and Neck Society (A.H.N.S.). I am also a member and former Secretary of the Colombian Association of Head and Neck Surgeons (ASCOLCCC), and a member and former Secretary of the Colombian Association of General Surgery (ACC). I previously served as Head of the Surgical Department at Mederí and Clínica Palermo, and as Coordinator of the Head and Neck Surgery Committee of the Colombian Association of Surgery.
