Dr. Alvaro Fernando Rico López

I am Dr. Alvaro Fernando Rico Lopez, MD, PhD, an Endocrinologist, and the Founder and Director of the Foundation for Research in Diabetes, Endocrinology, Metabolism, Obesity, and Health (FINDEMOS). I offer comprehensive and multidisciplinary management for diabetes and endocrine diseases. My goal is not just to provide a consultation but to empower you in managing your condition. For this, I work with a team of highly qualified professionals. I am a physician from the National University of Colombia, with specialization studies in Endocrinology at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), a Fellowship in Endocrinology, and a Doctorate from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany). I have 30 years of experience in Endocrinology and Diabetes.

For over 15 years, I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Diabetology Federation, where I served as President and am currently an Honorary Member. I am a Founding Member of the Colombian Diabetes Foundation, an Honorary Member of the Colombian Association of Internal Medicine, and I belong to several scientific societies, including: Colombian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Latin American Diabetes Association Colombian Association of Obesity and Metabolism Colombian Association of Osteology and Mineral Metabolism, among others.

I am dedicated to research, teaching, prevention, and comprehensive treatment of diabetes, thyroid diseases, obesity, arterial hypertension, osteoporosis, and other endocrine conditions.
