Dr. Alexander Mendoza

I graduated from Fundación Universitaria San Martin, where I obtained my degree as a plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon. Subsequently, I completed a fellowship (subspecialization) in aesthetic surgery at Clínica Planas in Barcelona, Spain. I currently work in the reconstructive area at Hospital Occidente de Kennedy and Hospital El Tunal in Bogotá. At the latter, I also teach in the plastic surgery specialization, and I also work at Hospital San Rafael de Facatativa. Additionally, I am an official speaker and independent researcher in Colombia for Praxis Laboratory, focusing on complex wound management. I am a full member of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery (SCCP).

I won first place in the Art and Science Award for the clinical case Necrotizing Fasciitis, presented at the Boston Medical Device (BMD), CONVATEC, in June 2012. I also received an honorable mention in the Arcadio Forero competition at the 8th Bolivarian Regional Congress of Plastic Surgery (FILACP) and the 34th National Congress of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery (SCCP) in April 2013, for my work titled 'Advancement and Rotation Celluloadipose Flap for Nail Bed Reconstruction,' which was published in the SCCP journal and the Ibero-American Journal of Plastic Surgery.
