My specialty, clinical toxicology, is both a hospital-based and outpatient service. I provide monitoring, treatment, and prevention for psychoactive substance use (SPA). I offer pharmacological and non-pharmacological counseling and treatment to help patients quit tobacco and manage ethanol consumption, including advice on responsible use, and monitoring and treatment for abuse and dependence. I also care for patients with prolonged opioid medication use due to chronic pain conditions, aiming for a progressive weaning off the medication to prevent withdrawal syndromes secondary to the abuse or chronic use of these types of medications.
